The engine sound of the spooling up A380 engines at RWY 16 is amazing. What a masterpiece of engineering.
The video shows even nice scenes of the last A.NET meet at July 17th.

Thanx for this great video. I really enjoyed watching it and I regret that I had to miss the meeting once more. At the heliport-stands there is a 744 sitting. What airline is it?

Wonderful video and thanks for sharing; thankfully the A380 sounds better than it looks!
Joking apart, do you know when the old observation deck on Pier B (?) will be re-opening. That was brilliant for photography of departures from 16 ... hopefully it will be available again soon!

As I remember it will be reopened by fall 2011.

Was this a temporary spotting area (where the video was shot) until the one on Pier B opens, or will this area be open to the public for the foreseeable future?
It rivals the proximity of Manchester based on some of the footage I've seen from there.
Anyone been to both and can compare the two?? (ZRH / MAN)

Excellent video. ZRH is one of my favorite airports in the world. I used to go spotting on the old terrace above the now demolished B gates when I was younger.
Good times...

I did not join the meeting but as I know ZRH the most of the video was taken on terrace E and the runway-crossing. To terrace E you get by a bus and it will stay open after terrace B reopens. To the runway-crossing you can get when you book the guided bus tour which stops there. To answer your question: these areas will still be open after the reopening of terrace B. Probably terrace E not daily as it is now but only on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays at it was before. But I am not sure about this.

Let me join the common acknowledgements here and say what a fabulous video that is! I'm also a big fan of engine spool up sequences, really gives me the creeps. But once the aircrafts thunder by at high speed, thats the moment when you really can experience power by all your senses!
Good day to you sir! Please turn left, your seat is in the first row.
Everytime I read the name of ZRH I am chuckling...it´s a bit childish, but it actually means scrotum in Dutch. And it is used almost everyday by me and the rest of my country as the Dutch variant of the English F-Word

Haha, you're not the only one. It's really funny how some words can mean something really normal in one language and something foul in another. There are plenty of examples of that. Even for me as Surinamese, there are some words that Dutch people use that have a whole other meaning for Surinamese.
