I look forward to it, so I can get some good deals and maybe double miles on AA.

Would be nice to see them at ORD, but we've heard about this for quite some time and I will not believe it until the flights start!

Wonder if they'll come to OMA? We need a new Airline with all the Mergers bringing us down to less than 10....

Exactly, Mark! It's a win-win situation for Chicagoans looking to head to the west coast (my company contracts primarily with UA).

next flights: jfk-icn, icn-hkg-bkk-cdg, cdg-phl-msp

Who would this impact more - AA or UA?

Looks like a whole lot of, "So what's new?" to me...

My guess is that the Trib had some space to fill up and someone went to the recycling bin and came up with this topic.

It's good to see VX expand. I hope they don't become too aggressive on their expansion...like People Express, for example.

Makes sense.

AA hasn't picked up AAdditional gates on L left over by DL as we all expected, but NK picked up an extra gate. Maybe the two remaining gates will be picked up by VX?

It would be nice to see them in ORD. I would also, like to see them fly into DTW. But, everyone is to chicken to go up
against DL. Same goes for B6. I think both would do great in DTW. People are tired of NK. And WN is not cheep by a long shot here in DTW.

Why don't they fly into MDW instead of ORD? Does it have to do with payload/performance restrictions during warmer times of the year or when the longer runways can't be used b/c of strong winds, other operational considerations, etc.

Clearly UA since VX shares the hub at SFO. VX is invading another UA hub, having started service at IAD and LAX soon after launch.

VX has said time after time they want to compete with the big boys (UA, AA) on ORD-SFO/LAX, and that cannot be accomplished from MDW. Not to mention that WN already flies MDW-SFO/LAX.

Not likely, since VX seems wants to cherry pick big markets, which OMA isn't.

That's what I figured. My other thought was that maybe it would impact AA relatively more in the sense that their only West Coast focus is LAX, whereas UA at least has LAX too, whereas if AA were to "lose" LAX-ORD to VX, that's it..

Also, the money in Chicago is closer to ORD than MDW.

JetBlue should add OMA to their route map. Why dont JetBlue add more midwest cities on to their route map already? C'mon jetBlue, where are you?

Bring JetBlue To Mexico City! (TLC and/or MEX would be great)

Are you kidding? Why go there when there is money to be had in the caribben among other places. AUS will see expansion before we add OMA on the route map.
