The JAL did an early go around and the BMI followed it in. All emergency services followed the BMI aircraft to the end of the runway where it pulled off and stopped. Nothing was landing on 27L for about 15 + minutes?

Quoting seemyseems (Reply 4): Yes, its operating a codeshare for LX.
Quoting rutankrd (Reply 6):
Not quite its a SWISS flight operated by bmi British Midland but to confuse it bit bmi do code share on this SWISS flight !
As far as I know, it's treated as a wet-lease.
BD aircraft, BD crew, LX flight number. And yes, BD codeshare on this flight operated by their own aircraft, which does seem a little schizophrenic.
Public service announcement: "It's" = "it is". To indicate posession, write "its." Looks wrong, but it's correct grammar

Funny, I was on G-MIDY two weeks ago. I too was a bit confused at how they market/operate these flights. BD crew and aircraft, Swiss flight number and Swiss-branded items inflight, i.e. cups, chocolates, etc.

On a similar note and a bit off topic, I booked a return flight with Austrian Airlines for a friend of mine from LHR to Varna (VAR) via Vienna (VIE) tomorrow, Monday, the flight number is OS 8928 but it says on the booking that it is operated by BMI on an A320.
Oddly, the second leg from Vienna to Varna is operated by Tyrolean Airways so, although the booking was made with Austrian, they dont fly any of the legs either way.
There isnt really a dark side to the moon, as a matter of fact its all dark!

That one will be a more straightforward codeshare, just like any other out there. With the Swiss/bmi setup, bmi actually ends up with the longer codeshare flight numbers, even though it's their aircraft, so it's kind of reversed.

The LHR-VIE route is different from the LHR-GVA route. Both Austrian and BMI fly the route with their own equipment, and codeshare on each others' services.
On LHR-GVA, the aircraft are bmi, but are wet-leased to Swiss, so all flights on this route are nominally Swiss flights (on which bmi then codeshares). However, there is no official "bmi" flight on this route.

Outbound is bmi flight BD425 - THIS IS a bmi British Midland service with Austrian code share
Onwards flight Vienna - Varna scheduled as a F100 - these carry Austrian arrows branding all all bar two aircraft
