I know that WN is at EAA this year:

It sounds like one of the reasons is to talk about the RNP (Required Navigational Procedures) system on their aircraft.

I also noticed a FL 737 coming in today from LAX. What is AirTran doing at the show?

Also, AA is bringing a 737 in for a Veterans Honor Flight to DCA.

Hmm, looks like the FL 737 is leaving this afternoon. Was this some kind of charter? Seems strange the aircraft would come from LAX.

I believe it is just a charted aircraft and is not actually AirTran. I know a charted Air New Zealand Boeing 747 will be coming to OSH as well.

WN's will actually be run by WN.

Very simple actually, because it is a major Wisconsin and US event and Airtran has a hub in the largest city in Wisconsin, MKE. So thus its good advertising and a good way to be in the community and show off a bit.

I drove by OSH yesterday and it was mad house on US-41 and in the air. Thanks to the EAA for holding their fly in at Oshkosh for all these years. A great boost to the local economy!

I just confirmed it with AirTran that the B737 to OSH is a chartered flight.

But no doubt it is still good publicity for them!

With all the rain we have had here in WI the past couple of weeks, the grounds are so soggy that most of the normal parking for both aircraft and cars is not useable until the ground dries out. It is really a mess trying to accommodate everyone who wants to attend this year.

That being said, was down there today, a great time. And if you really want a sight, go down to Fisk, where the approach controllers are stationed on a hilltop, and you will get a great idea of just how busy OSH is.

It was chartered by a group of Australians (from what I saw when the passengers were disembarking), I saw the aircraft arrive and it parked right in Aeroshell Square. It departed about 2 hours later back to ATL.
I havn't seen the WN 737 yet.

WN 737 is coming in on Saturday the 31st from MDW just for the day. That will be flown by WN with WN people inside.

I heard on the radio this morning they are calling it Sloshkosh.
