Hi all,

There's been a ton of rumours regarding AV-TA joining a global alliance, and some of us have been waiting for an announcement, but nothing yet.

Now, I just found out that LH, which will start FRA-BOG-BOG next fall, is codesharing with AV in flights such as MIA-BOG, BOG-CCS or GRU-BOG. I can't remember any announcement on AV or LH side of any codesharing agreements, so, this might be afirst step towards AV-TA entering Star Alliance??

Any thoughts??

Could you tell please tell us how/where you found this out ? It would not surprise me , but it would be good if you could provide a source . Thanks .

Try to make a reservation BOG-FRA-BPG with LH in J and in F. Give it a try at see what it comes out, pretty interesting.

Thanks for that , but in the example you showed I don't see any codeshares - the sectors operated by AV are showing AV flight numbers only , if there is an LH codeshare on that sector I am missing it .

You're right. But how does someone can booh an AV flight through the LH reservation system?? Probably there's something else than a regular codesharing agreement or something in the lines like it, that could point us for a future agreement that we haven't heard of yet?? Because I see no reason for LH to show AV as an option and there's nothing official out there regarding any partnership or anything like that....

It is just interlining. Didn't someone mention several months ago that they could find IB flights to secondary Spanish airports from MAD when booking through DL? Two years ago I had to go to MEX-VIX-NYC-MEX so my agent found me MEX-GRU with AM, CGH-VIX with JJ, VIX-GRU-JFK with JJ and JFK-MEX with AM. All in one AM-issued ticket and at a decent price. So it is pretty usual I think.

AA's website even shows flights from other airlines that do not involve oneworld or codeshares as separate purchase options.

Next flights: MEX-GRU (AM 77E), GRU-GIG (JJ A320), SDU-CGH (G3 73H), GRU-MEX (JJ A332).

That's very common. For example, the AC website includes connections with QF to points in Australia beyond SYD. It's just a normal interline agreement. Almost all major airlines interline with each other, regardless of alliance affiliation.

I was wondering if LH is ever planning to make it possible to make a reservation to other cities in Colombia via BOG? It is already possible to do so with AF. You can chose AV or P5 from BOG.
