What would you say? ............

Would it be because you like that "soaring like a bird" feeling?

It's the best and fastest way to get from place to place?

You just can't get enough of all that scrumptious airline food? (He he  Smile/happy/getting dizzy)

Frequent Flyer Miles?

Thanks for your thoughts......... Smile

I love langhauls - that feeling you get on a widebody of belonging to a community at 35,000 feet. Plus it's nice to look at pretty girls serving you food and drink! Smile

I used to think the brain is the most fascinating part of my body. But, hey, who is telling me that?

No,quite frankly just being there above the clouds in the sunshine while others are desk-bound in the rain gives me a kick.

i do not know, the fact that 500 tons are being lifted into the air to soar like a bird is reason enough for me!

To really think about it I dont know;

Flying has always been an obsession to me. I have flown countless times, both as a passenger and as a pilot. I knew more about aircraft at age eight than some adults. My girlfriend gets annoyed with me because if were passing an airport and she's talking to me Im enthralled into what's taking off and landing. I guess it like being addicted to drugs you cant get it out of your system.

Flying on airlines has changed since I was younger, or perhaps I changed as I grew older, In one's youth they have time to look out the window. One of my greatest pleasures was the chance to fly National Airlines before being bought out by pan am.

It looks a little odd to see the airlines of yesteryear now long gone You catch a registration number he and there of some of the giants like Pan AM and Eastern either flying Cargo or for an upstart airline somewhere.

I think what is most amusing is that we (Or maybe just me) Take these marvouls machines and bring them to life. I was recently reminded of this when I was at Atlantic City International (Pomona Field) and saw an (Retired i guess) delta L-10-11 She didn't look like she was going anywhere but she brought back memories of times remembered. Maybe thats why I like to fly so much. Because the most plesant rememberances of my life stems from flying.

Feeling the push in my back when the throttles are pushed forward.

Listening to the gear sound as it picks up speed.

The moment of rotation and watching the scenery grow smaller underneath me.

Drinking Bloody Mary mix in flight.

Making conversation with the complete stranger sitting next to me.

Reading "Extremes" in TWA's magazine.

Dozing off with that cheesy pillow behind my neck and that tiny blanket covering me from chest to knee.

Being awakened by announcements from the flight deck.

The combination of throttle back and pitch down initiating descent.

Listening to, and feeling the flaps deploy.

The bang of the gear doors opening.

A perfectly "greased" landing (okay, I've only experienced this twice).

In this order, day or night.

- The thrill of the takeoff,
- The awesome views,
- The excitement of the landing.

Does it for me every time.

hmm what i like about flying is....

the sensation of freedom

the view of the earth some 35000 ft above

the experience as CYKA said

the smell of the cabin as air taiwan stated i remember that smell for like a week, when i am sleeping after a flight i can feel like im still in the airplane in my dreams thats exciting!

i like the kick u get when u are on the runway and the plane starts the take-off roll and it pushes u on the chair

the flight attendants  Smile

also I cant drive nearby an airport too i also like to see whats going on on the airport so here in MIA i cant drive by the Dolphin Expressway cause i will be lookin at the airport not the cars in front of me! hehe

i can say that aviation is the only legal, harmless, pleasant, exclusive addiction u can get addicted to!

 Smile
