WOW. Thanks for posting that - talk about strange, and what a freakin nuisance.

Anyone have any clue on what's going on down there? Hopefully this is a temporary change. However if it is, it would be incredibly annoying for the airlines to flip flop between systems.

Also, judging from what's written, this problem isn't only affecting SkyTeam - but rather any US airline code-sharing with Mexican carriers!

Here's the thread about the downgrade by the FAA
FAA To Downgrade Mexico’s Aviation Safety Ranking (by terryb99 Jul 30 2010 in Civil Aviation)

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems with just potatoes.

There is a thread. FAA is concerned about the Mexican governments ability to ensure aviation safety.

This step has actually been taken, quietly, before the downgrade was officially in effect.
I tried booking a DL flight from ATL to DEN via MEX last week and could not get anything on AM metal.
A shame, really.

Where have all the tri-jets gone...

The FAA know how to screw things up. The FAA is going to ruin Tourism in Mexico, which ain't cool at all.

Bring JetBlue To Mexico City! (TLC and/or MEX would be great)

I don't think the FAA will "ruin tourism in Mexico", its an annoince more than anything, but this decision will tarnish the image of Mexican airlines which by the way have a good safety record....

Like I said I hope other countries take notice and take action before they suffer a downgrade as well

IIRC, Skyteam had this problem, several years ago, with Korean.
