Not sure whether or not this item has been covered here yet. But from the start of the new timetables on October 3, SIA will be offering twice daily A380 flights into SYD. At the moment there is only one A380 flight a day.

It is interesting that the other flights will be done with 2-class 77Es. I wonder if SQ will fit its 77E fleet with the new regional business class cabin of the new A333s.

Not yet, the 3 class 772's on the route still say regional business class seating on these flights. However these 772 flights are scheduled for day flying in either direction. Why can't they put the 77W on there.

They have already retrofitted 11 regional 772s with new regional J.

Where did you get this infomation from regarding the 3 class 772s? I fly this sector on a regular basis; there is no regular 3 class 772. The 77Ws are being taken off to facilitate HND the 14x and increase in MUC-MAN.

Thought they do at the moment 3 times a day ?

Quoting Lh748i (Reply 9): why? And why would a second SQ A380 not take freight either?
It would but its about half that the 77W can carry.
Quoting smi0006 (Reply 8): I can't speak for SYD however MEL recieves dedicated SQ freighter every night I think, I would imagine SYD would be the same.
MEL a daily SQ 744F? 2-3 weekly at best I think and SYD is the same.
Quoting sydaircargo (Reply 7): with CV pulling out of OZ soon , not much cargo capacity left down under
CV don't fly to SYD only MEL and AKL and it seems loads aren't great since they are pulling out, I know its also the operating costs of such a long flight aswell.

It seems at the moment that it's the Skybed (30J/255Y configuration) for the 77E flights.
I was booked on SQ234 over Dec and that has been changed to a 772. My seat selection and the configuration that appears is a standard 77E Skybed config.

Think you mean Spacebed. I was going to say that, I thought I read that 1 flight would be the older Spacebed config as you say 30J 255Y and the other the new regional config 38J 228Y.
Not sure how long this will last as I'd think once the 773 refit finally restarts they will put them on the SYD flights.

Sorry, yes, Spacebed - bloody QF... LOL
And with SQ234 went my first ride on a 77W.
I'm in Y but the 77E product (even the -ER product) is a bit tired. The advantage of the -ER product is the 34".
Do you know which of the flights would be new regional J and which is Spacebed? It makes no difference to me because my timetable is a bit inflexible but would be good to know.
I can understand why the full long-haul product is taken off the day flights; the regional product is almost lie-flat anyway.
But MEL gets a 77W and a return of the 744!
Not. Happy. Jan.
I guess as a Y pax, I just want the upgraded Y product be it 773 or 77E. But the roar of those GE90's...still have yet to experience it.
