As I was leaving at around 9:30am today, there was a number of fire engines, two ambulance and three police vehicles that shot past me going down the South Permiter Road.

Anyone know if this was a training drill or something occuring with an aircraft?

Quoting planesailing (Thread starter):

I haven't been to Gatwick today, but I have just been to East Grinstead (about 10 miles away from the airport by road) and also had to pull over for numerous emergency service vehicles in both directions. Nothing on the website to suggest that there has been an incident at the airport though.
