On my way back to the car park yesterday, I noticed that there was an all white 744 in the BA maintenance area. Does anyone have any ideas as to which one and why it was there ?

If it was a 744F, it belongs to CI.

That plane had its cargo door blown out during tests by Boeing before delivery to CI. Boeing fixed it and I guess gave CI an enough of a discount that CI took it. But CI did not want their colors painted on the plane in case they are going to resell it to another carrier.

But does CI Cargo fly to LHR? I know they fly to MAN

I was at LHR on July 17th this year and the all white B744 was SAA B747-4F6 ZS-SBS. Along with a SAA A343 and A346.

Some of the ex BA 757s are mainly white. There are 3 or 4 parked up at the moment.

Kalitta has a few all white 747's. I know a few 747 classics, not too sure about a 400 though.

Are you sure the white B744 wasn't one of the many UAE/Bahrani VVIPs that regularly visit.
There was certainly one of these on the cargo ramp on thursday morning as i went out to Belfast.

ZS-SBS operated SAA234 inbound but I'm not sure which flight outbound.
