Accoriding to the Russian website www.avia.ru, 5300 passengers used Hong Kong Airlines HKG-SVO service in the first month of service. Taking into consideration the fact that the route is flown 3 times a week with an A330-200, I'd say those are very impressive loads. I mean with 4 airlines serving the same route ( Aeroflot, Transaero, Cathay and HK Airlines) there is A LOT of competition. Well, all I can say is I am very glad they are doing so well and good luck to them and other airlines flying to HK from Moscow.

Sounds promising, but what affect is it having on yields and LF% of other carriers. Such competition usually always leads to atleast 1 casualty.

Hong Kong is not China. Not better or worse, just different.

Transaero flies once a week, so I would not even count them as competition.

Does anyone know what the yields are of HX? Loads themselves mean very little, especially if they are doing package-tour type loads.
