It appears they have either realise they are understaffed or they are about to embark on a rapid expansion programme!

I think they scrapped some routes, so not sure why they would need more FA? How long is their training? Maybe they are gearing for Spring 2011.

Approximately 3-4 weeks I believe.

There has been stories in the news recently stating they are short of crew so this would make sense!

Given Virgin Atlantic have just done a massive recrutiment and BA are also hiring - I presume a few EZY staff have jumped ship. they also have alot of temps finish in OCT.

Exactly
It follows U2 anouncement that they would address the mess in the network that has followed the launch of new routes without recruiting adequatly. Well of course they didn't say it flat out like that

Just looked through the vacancies and these are all "seasonal" jobs...

I assume by this they are only employed during the summer timetable, and laid off for the quieter winter period. I don't think this is going to attract many people.

Those they do employ are not likely to be the cream of the crop!

In this day and age people want job stability with permanent employment.

People may want that , but if they can't get it they may have to settle for what they can get .

U2 are operating three 752s on wet leases from 5W (Astraeus Airlines) (G-OJIB), ZT (Titan Airways) (G-ZAPX) and OF (Air Finland) (OH-AFJ):

It seems possible that a wet lease was chosen because U2 did not have the cabin crews to operate dry leased 320s.

Astraeus had already committed 'IB to a wet lease to SV for the Hadj season. This is going to leave U2 short of an aircraft or possibly a set of cabin crews towards the end of the current season, as I understood that they were anxious to retain the aircraft for somewhat longer than will be possible.

As an aside doesn't the 752 look good in U2 livery?

It's four now, Air Finland's OH-AFI is in easyJet colours too. Three of the 757s are flying from Gatwick, the other from Stansted.

Just a few points.......

The crew shortage has predominantly been flight crew as opposed to cabin crew.

The majority of temp crew will be staying with Easyjet for the Winter season.

Seasonal but many will have their contracts extended or made permanant (unlike many charter carriers) due to the fact that the network is more diverse and Winter frequencies can be redistributed.

Proud to fly from Manchester!
