Thx for the link, but it does not state when the authority will be granted and when they will start selling. I did notice today that CMH-CUN will be ready for sales beginning tomorrow Sat Aug 21. Can someone assume that all 4 planned routes will be open for sale on that date, or is it just CMH market?
According to the weekly enilria update, they went on sale this week.
Quoting mptpa (Thread starter): JB used to fly this route with an E190... Does anyone know if they plan to restart?
I highly doubt B6 will ever try it again. They used to do all kinds of p2p flying, but have now really consolidated the network around BOS/JFK/MCO/FLL/LGB. So, it's not surprising that from CUN they really only serve BOS, JFK, MCO, and FLL (I think IAD is a seasonal weekly service, and continued only to hoard a scarce route authority).
Whereas B6 flew the route daily, DL will only serve it weekly. Since B6 saw ~60% loads, DL should do just fine.
Flying in the middle seat of coach is much better than not flying at all!
"Delta Air Lines will begin Saturday nonstop flights between Tampa International Airport and Cancun, Mexico, on Feb 19, the airline announced today.
Tickets will be on sale Saturday. Prices were not immediately available for the new service.
Delta will use 142-seat MD-88 aircraft, with 14 first class and 128 economy seats."
See above TBO link for details. The article also mentions several past attempts such as the B6 service which failed due to the swine flu outbreak near the time the route launched. I hope DL has better luck!
