Why did Continental discontinue the Newark-Santiago Chile flight? When I was a ramp agent at EWR I use to work on those flights, and those flight were always full. It doesn't make sense to dicontinue a flight that the planes were full. Was it because they have a widebody shortage, and does anyone know if Continental will resume this service in the near future? And one more question does Continental and Alitalia codeshare anymore or was it discontinued?

Continental changed the non-stop EWR-SCL (DC-10)flight into EWR-LIM-SCL (757). CO wanted to make Lima into a sort of a mini-hub. They had 5th freedom rights on the LIM-SCL flight and also the LIM-VVI (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) flight that originated in IAH. The Peruvian government decided to withdraw CO's 5th freedom rights on these routes. I think that it was in retaliation to the US government not allowing Peruvian registered aircraft to fly into the USA. CO then dropped SCL and VVI completely.

I would get chlostraphobic on a narrow-body Int'l Flight.
