Great news for SpiceJet - this is their first international foray (as mentioned above). Can't wait for a sea of Indian LCCs battling it to regional destinations like CMB, KUL, SIN, BKK, DXB, SHJ etc

The timings are just ridiculous for a 1.5 hr flight.
Couldn't Spicejet offer some decent timings for such a short flight?
Who will want to wake up in the night for a short flight?

@DTWLAX This really doesn't matter much here, where most traffic is VFR/leisure. There's another CMB-MAA around the same timings, operated by JetLite. UL however offers the best timings with 0730 and 1830 departures that connect to all of its banks.
Interestingly, SG is the first carrier to operate a No.1 ( SG001 ) to CMB.

I hope to see SpiceJet flying to SE Asia by next year. It makes a lot of sense to use the aircraft in the night to international destinations, thus increasing its asset utilization and ROI.

I look forward to flying LAX-BKK on one of the NE Asian carrier, and connect to MAA on SpiceJet after a break in BKK. The savings in airfare will pay for the break in BKK.

perhaps an indication that new management will focus spice jet ops from south india.

a break in BKK will not be very heavy on the pocket any which way.........
