UX MIA-MAD Downgauged To 767 For Winter Season?

Just came across the UX schedule and noticed that they are downgrading their usual 332 to MIA to a 763 for the winter season. Does anyone know whats behind this decision? Interestingly UX goes back to 332 for next summer at flies 5X weekly instead.

With the South American summer season coming soon, is it surprising a longer range plane would switch to Latin America.

Funny thing is the flight is going already down to 3X weekly by the end of the month. Are the loads that bad to cause such a sudden downgrade in service? But the flight goes up to 5X weekly in April of 2011, oddly enough. Does this flight perform better in the summer than in the winter, a sharp contrast to all other European service out of MIA.

-Yes. MIA-MAD has higher demand (on loads) in summer as opposed to other European cities, mostly due to families with longer vacation times and VFR connecting to Latin America. Premium demand is traditionally higher in the winter, but that's not the market UX generally attracts.

Why do you never stop with your apocalypse postings? Loads are fine, in the mid-70's to Madrid and mid-90's to Tenerife. The plug isn't being pulled. Miami-Madrid, unlike other Miami-Europe markets, is much busier in the summer months since it has such a larger VFR component.

Probably they will use the 332 to SSA or other South American destination. It is a smart use of resources to use the A332 on summer to MIA and JFK and in the winter to SSA and EZE. Good balance !

New York + Rio de Janeiro = One of the best combinations !
