LHR to DEL has the following flights daily for the Winter 2010 :

VS : daily A346
BA : daily 747 + daily 77W
AI : daily 77W + daily 77L
IT : daily 330-200

An A340-600 which was stored in TLS for over a year is now in MNL and will be back soon , So probably its this aircraft coming back which is facilitating this switch over .

That is great news that it is coming back from storage... now to guess where the 343 is going!

Oh i hope all the A343 go to get scrapped ... that is if you cant find a buyer for them .

They are old ... strating to look tired with IFE which is so far behind current industry standards .

You've clearly not been on the VS A343s - most have VPort and the new Upper Class - they are very nice indeed. People love to slag them off but they are much nicer than, for example, the BA772s, etc.

What do you mean you dont have any bourbon? Do you know how far it is to Houston? What kind of airline is this???

Virgin have no A346s in Manila. I believe the A346 you are referring to G-VGOA has left Manila and is back in service with Virgin.

A bit off-topic, but for the time being, flight VS/VIR300 LHR-DEL is holding somewhere over northwestern France, between Calais and Le Touquet-Paris Plage at FL220. Aircraft is G-VSEA.

Any update on that ?

Yes, but to be fair that was only in the last couple of days - it had been there since early August.

I wonder when G-VATL will be leaving LDE for a similar RTS check?

So long 701, it was nice knowing you.

My thoughts....

They have 5 new A330's arriving next year.

First one is for MAN growth

Second one I believe will replace a 744 at LGW (Mco) while the 744 fleet get refurbed

Third & fourth may repalce the 2 older 343's that were test frames

Fifth is presumably for more growth as Havana and caribbean see some increases from NOV.

Then in 2011 they have 5 more arriving which could replace the last 4 343's and still provide 1 frame for growth and end of 2012 LGW refurn will be complete allowing a 747 back for growth.

Rumour has it by end of year.

Virgin A343-311s CN2 G-VHOL & CN3 G-VSEA are planned to exit the Virgin fleet during July & September 2011 respectively.

Nice - sorta fits with what I mentioned above. Will be good to have the LGW refit and less non v port birds flying

So no more stored A346s then after it returns to service with all IB birds delivered now
