Got the info only today, was on vacation in Jamaica :
On the 6th of Sep., An Air Antilles Express (3S) Cessna C208 had to do an emergency landing in a sugar cane field in Anse Bertrand, Guadeloupe after taking off from PTP on its way to SBH
Operated for Air Caraibes (TX) with 1 pilot and 6 pax on board; pilot & 3 pax were injured but nobody died

That is terrible. I hope they heal up soon.
When I saw this post I thought it was going to say the plane crashed on final to SBH. I have flown in to SBH a number of times. That is one all or nothing runway. First it feels like you are going to land on a car driving on the hillside. After that it feels like you are going to run out of runway and end up on the beach. Very exciting.
All along you see planes landing, taking off, going by... And yes the classic approach seems "interesting". One pilot said that once winds permitted to land the other way around, and passengers complained ! Anetters surely
Most planes seen in the doc are twin engined, lots of twin otters and aero commander. Is the caravan common ?
According to the info on crash aerien, the sugarcane smoothed the crash landing. The only serious injury is a broken leg.
