OK so I know this is another faux pas question in asking "Will airline X fly to...?" but I would just like to gauge everyone's thought on Delta entering the North African markets. With Delta aggressively pursuing destinations in West Africa with success, would it be wise for them to fly to Morocco and Algeria - CMN and ALG respectively from JFK?
CMN is only served by RAM daily on a 763 and Air Algerie only serves YUL from ALG. CMN would be well within reach of a 752, but ALG might be on the limit of the aircraft's range. Both these routes would have a great deal of VFR traffic which seems like the major deterrent for DL to launch these cities. But hey, where did KEF come from...?

TUN, ALG and CMN are well served by major airlines like LH, AF/KL, BA etc. which connect nicely with their North American network. I don't think any of these cities are just screaming for new/increased services to North America.
DL can just interline traffic through CDG and AMS. If it does start JFK-CMN-TUN, it'll be really convenient only for the O&D market. For passengers flying, say, TUN-LAX, they'd have to fly TUN-CMN-JFK-(possibly ATL/DTW)-LAX. I bet it's easier for them to do TUN-CDG-LAX on AF instead (or TUN-FRA-LAX, for that matter).
