It's not the first time it happens as previously in 1996 Sabena has used its 340's on the AGP route before taking them to long haul. This was done to perform as much landings and take-offs for the pilots...

Hmmm, well 1996 is a long time ago. I merely pointed it out for the possible spotters in AGP to offer them a chance to catch this aircraft flying in.
Hell, the A340s have flown on Liège quite a bit (for the exact reason you pointed out, albeit those were pure training flights with touch-and-go's), and there are photos in the A.N database of OO-SCW and OO-SCX in Stockholm, too.
