Charter Boeing 747-200's For Delta?

I saw on Delta's website they show the seating chart for a Boeing 747-200 for charter:

http://www.delta.com/planning_reserv...s_layout/747_200_charter/index.jsp

It is sort of hidden and out of the way. I am assuming these are the two Boeing 747-200's that came from NW? Anyone know how NW used them? How DL is going to use them or maybe sell them?

Anyone know the reg numbers for the aircraft? Photos?

It is interesting because how many Boeing 747-200's are still flying around passengers in the US?

Thanks,
David

Those last two 742's that NW was operating for charters were withdrawn from service at the end of December 2009 I believe.

That is odd. Why would Delta list them on their site then?

I don't know, but Kalitta has purchased them, along with all the 747-200F's that NWACargo was operating.
There's a thread on it, don't remember where.

I don't see a link to it on http://www.delta.com/planning_reserv...t/aircraft_types_layout/index.jsp. I think the page was just never deleted.

They carried the Saints to and from London in 2008. Took 624 (silver) over and 623 (bowling shoe) back.

Here are the final flights at NW for each when they sent them to the desert,

I know they carried another NFL team BUF-LGW . I don't remember the team name. I went to BUF to see it at the gate, wow!!!

BTW,did Connie buy the pax planes too,or just the freighters? I imagine the pax planes would be parted out if he bought them.

Yeah, that was the Chargers. They traveled to BUF to play the Bills, and then left from BUF straight after the game to LGW on the 742. The Saints did the same thing from CLT. Chargers rode 623 over and 624 back, the Saints did tthe opposite.

Yes he did, and I would guess to cannibalize for parts to keep the freighters flying.

Yep and I think one is already up in OSC being used for parts for the rest.

You said the link was hidden and out of the way. That's probably the reason it's still there. My guess is that, when the type was retired, they removed references to it from their website. However there was some obscure link still sitting somewhere that someone forgot about, and therefore didn't think to take the page down.

The reason New Mexico is so windy is because Texas sucks and Arizona blows.
