When Did DL Stop NRT-KIX?

Was it coincident with the inauguration of SEA-KIX? I guess everywhere that had NRT service has service to SEA on DL/AS/QX, so it is still 1 stop service, just with the plane change occurring in SEA instead of NRT.

Believe so, also most of the citys that had 1 stop via NRT have it via SEA(as you said) and via HNL. The only citys of the top of my head that doesn't have via HNL on Delta metal is PDX and NYC, and NYC can go via SEA on all Delta metal. PDX would need a flight on AS to HNL or SEA

yep.

I was in NRT two weeks ago, and the signage for international connections vs. domestic still included mention of KIX.

With the code share on AS/QX, PDX is really not a prob (certainly more frequent than from LAX and SFO). Do you know if US pax ever/often transit via HNL? seems pretty out of the way .

On that note, do you know when DL dropped PDX-HNL?

Flying between two of the world's most expensive airports without traffic rights - not to mention using a lucrative slot at both!

that is true.

Ehh i can't remember the slot times on NRT-KIX but AFAIK nothing has replaced it yet. (ROR is the only new route that started and they pulled it from SPN)

IIRC it was like 3-4 days ago.

And it is permanant, not seasonal? My PDX-NRT-KIX-HNL-PDX trip is not looking very practical

Checking Delta.com, they sell it as PDX-SEA-KIX with AS codeshare.

They gave it to AS.......but they didn't if you bring up outsourcing more of the west nextwork to AS....bring that up and they just dropped it.

would have to take the codeshare AS flight, and even then I'm not sure if you wouldn't have to wait a long time or even stay over night, but it could be done.

At this point i would say very, very little. Only reason one (IMO) would do it is to fly nothing but Delta, not go PDX-SLC-SEA-KIX, or if they want to make a stop in Hawaii.

Yeah, as mentioned above I understand that KIX is still reachable via the code shares. (In addition I was actually asking about the HNL flight, although I wasn't clear about that)

In this case, though I was trying to bring a friend on vacation with me using a buddy pass which is only valid on DL flights, so no go.

To do so you would have to do PDX-SLC-SEA-KIX.

Though if you [doug_Or] are taking someone on buddy pass, I'm sure it's considerably cheaper, not to mention shorter, to just drive to SEA instead of going through this baffling ordeal to get to KIX the long way

The price is computed based on start to finish distance, not individual legs, so it would actually be the same cost, but taking the train or driving would be much less risky than adding a bunch of unnecessary legs.

In addition to all applicable airport taxes. Since SEA-KIX is shorter than PDX-KIX anyway, PDX-SLC-SEA-KIX would be quite a bit more (well, like 20 bucks) given the 9/11 security fees of all intermediate stopovers and any airport passenger facility charges.
