I didnt get a upgrade on a flight from BWI-IAH and had to sit in coach and noticed a few numbers were skipped on the 800 and walked through later on the 900 from IAH to SEA and noticed the same thing. 800 missing row 9, 13, 15-19, and 33. On the 900 row 13, 16-19, and 33. Does anyone know why?

Yes, I know why.
They renumbered the seat rows this summer, so that exit rows could be numbered the same throughout the fleet.
Not sure if they match the 757 fleet, but throughout the 737 fleet, all exit rows are numbered the same.
This makes things easier on reassigning seats in the event of equipment changes, and keeps us snobby elites happier.

The 757 fleet also has the same numbering system.

As far as the row 13 goes, I believe CO has long been one of the only major US carriers that hasn't used 13 for row numbers. That's also the case in many other countries where 13 is considered unlucky. You'll rarely find a row numbered 13 on a European carrier (outside the UK). In the US and Canada that's a rarity, apart from CO. Many hotels also lack a floor numbered 13.

Maybe that will change with the UA/CO merger since UA doesn't skip row 13 on their aircraft.

Narrow body fleet yes.. 737/757 First row coach is 7, Exit rows are 20/21. Row numbers between 7 and 20 are hit and miss depending on the size of the aircraft. Row 33 is an exit row only on the 753, so is skipped elsewhere. I have found this pattern very helpful in day to day operations.

That remains to be sorted out.. I would expect UA ac will adapt the 7/20/21 system for reasons of consistency at least.
