Quoting DID747 (Thread starter): it seems these planes were used to Florida too, but when exactly and what were the frequencies? any info?
Continental did not have authority to serve Florida until 1976. If they visited Florida, it would have been on a charter.

Agreed. Here is their route map from October 31, 1971:

I read somewhere, but where, Continental flew to Orlando with the early 747-124. I will try to find.
WA707atMSP and Citationjet; do you know if they started Chicago-Denver-Los Angeles-Honolulu in 1970 or only Chicago-Los Angeles-Honolulu and they added Denver on the route later?

Don't know if DEN was started in 1970. Here is a link to the October 31, 1971 timetable that shows 747 service (bold flights) to LAX and ORD from DEN. Page 32 of the timetable says that bold indicates 747 service on at least one segment.
DID747, see the following thread. I believe you answered in Reply #20 the question you are now asking. You stated in Reply #20 that "The original route in 1970 was Chicago-Denver-Los-Angeles Honolulu ."

I happen to have a 1971 OAG to hand and here are a few of the CO 747 flights
CO 617 LAX-DEN-ORD (FrSu only)
CO 602 HNL-LAX-DEN
CO 606 HNL-LAX-ORD
CO 615 ORD-DEN
CO 617/619 ORD-DEN
There may be a few more, but at this time of night, I can't find them!
I also recall reading some of the load factors for around this period; CO's LF for the 747 around this time was around the mid 30s! Great for passengers ... less good for airlines. Other 747 operators like DL and NW fared little better.
