Gentleman,

Today I arrived early in the morning in Congonhas Airport (CGH) and a very unusual sighting caught my attention: an official executive plane from the Brazilian government resting in finger 01 of the passenger terminal. I´m a frequently flier and I haven´t seen anything like that before in Brazil or in other places, so I wonder, how common is that?

I´m sure some folks from TAM that usually use that finger must have been very upset, since it was on a Monday morning in one of the most utilized airports in Brazil.

Below some pictures taken with my mobile phone. Sorry about the poor quality.

A friend of mine caught a photo of Air Force 1 parked at a commercial gate in BRU. It was at a nato summit a few years ago. Obviously the president did not deboard at the terminal. they probably parked it there for staff and cleaning and such.

I would love to see Obama with his shoes and belt off going through the metal detectors.

hey probably parked it there for staff and cleaning and such.

Would Air Force One rely on local cleaning crews to clean the plane rather than carry their own? I could see that being a nightmare to set up...having to clear cleaners in every city the plane visits.

That's pretty normal in Singapore. If I remember correctly, the VIP terminal in SIN is attached to the end of Terminal 2 and shares a gate. The gate can be switched between official and commercial roles as needed. Nifty solution if you ask me.

That's probably true. The weather was lousy from what he told me. cold and rainy. Probably for actual AF1 staff to use. Plus the ground power was there without having to run a cart for 3 days or the APU. kl

No, they have USAF personnel for that.

But, I think that VIP planes in Toronto sometimes use the currently empty infield terminal if I'm not mistaken.
