I am always fascinated by the AI/IC integration and how it is plodding along. Air India’s attempt to reinvent it’s self is also highly interesting.
Since there are so many thread on DL, UA fleet paints and interior updates I thought why not a thread on the repainting of the AI fleet, one of the most visual (although not truly representative) symbols of their integration with IC, have they completed it yet?

As far as I am aware from the AI website their fleet consists of the following, are these all in the ‘new’ AI colours?

Wide Body
B777-200LR - 8
B777-300ER -12
B747-400- 5
A310-300 - 4
A330-200 - 2
Wide Body Total 31

Narrow Body
B737-800 - 21
A320 - 28
A319 - 24
A321 - 20
CRJ-700 - 4
ATR42 - 7
Narrow Body Total : 104
Total Operational Fleet : 135
Freighters A310-300 - 3
B737-200 - 6
Freighters Total - 9

Also as a side note, are all the staff wearing the AI uniform now? What does it look like pics seem scarce. Also one final question are all aircraft now fitted with the AI orange and red seat covers? Are there plans to standardise the fleet with regard to IFE?

Nope, expected to finish early next year.

No. Let me break it down for you.

* B777-200LRs, B777-300ERs, A330-200s, A321s, A310s, B744s, CRJ, ATRs are all in the new Air India livery.

* A319s are in 2 liveries. Interim "Indian" livery on the aircrafts with all Economy configuration (2-3 of them I guess) and the remaining in the new livery.

* The A320s are in all 3 liveries and you will normally find the old A320s doing routes to the Gulf.

* B737-800s is for Air India Express, a different livery altogether .. and in fact a different airline with different call sign under the Air India umbrella.

Yes.

Also one final question are all aircraft now fitted with the AI orange and red seat covers?

* Half of A321s have blue seats, and the other have red and orange seat covers. Gradually all A321s will have the red and yellow seat covers. All A321s have PTVs with non AVOD programming.

* The all economy configured A319s have no PTVs and are in the blue interiors. The remaining A319s have Red and orange interiors with PTVs (non AVOD)

* A320s by and large are old and without PTVs. Except for 4-5 of them (VT-ED* series) which are in new AI interiors and PTV non AVOD

* A332s, A310s, ATRs, CRJs have AI interiors without PTVs, just drop down screens/TVs.

* B744s, B77L, B77W have AI interiors with PTVs (AVOD)

* B737-800s are for Air India Express exclusively and have totally different interiors as it is a low cost carrier. They have blue leather seats and are in a single class configuration.

Nothing, narrow bodies have non AVOD IFE while wide bodies have AVOD.

Don't you know that Air India was heading for AGAIN a new livery design?? There were plans to launch the new design during the coming Commonwealth Games 2010 though this plan is roughly aborted...

Its just a small sticker somewhere on the fuselage, nothing all different that QR did for Asian games.
