Just a friendly FYI, the correct spelling of the word would be "Carolinas" (no apostrophe).

Thanks for starting the new thread, and I'm looking forward to hearing what everyones' airports are making news with!

Well GSO gets two daily DL mainline to ATL, a DC9 and MD88. So what are these equipment upgrades?

FX is adding flights here but at an extremely slow rate. Maybe 2011 will be the year.

Very clean and fresh looking. Very nice!

I'm wondering why EWN never gets any love? No new flights, no new destinations, No new carriers.. and I think it could handle a few more.. and perhaps someone to bring the costs down at the airport..

Currently with only flights to CLT and ATL, I could see perhaps a daily flight or two to Washington and New York, with a weekly flight to Orlando.. that would be a good mix for the airport..

So, what I'm thinking is..

7x CLT (US Express - CRJ/Dash 8)
1x IAD (UA Express - ERJ)
2x EWR (UA Express - ERJ)
3x ATL (DL Conn - CRJ)
Sat MCO (DL Conn - CRJ)

For some reason, airlines seem quite hesitant to start service to DCA/IAD. Seems like they'll double a NYC route before they go Washington.

Has DL stated anything about restarting Connection service in and out of Orlando? I think that RDU will be the only CRJ flight there that I know of.

Not just that... the RDU DL Conn regional jets will be the only such service at MCO, RSW, MIA, and TPA. So we will see what happens next..

I guess in a way this is an equipment upgrade because of the 70 seats. With the merger it will be interesting to see if they put some CRJ7s in EWR for routes like GSO.

Well that's unfortunate.. AA operates LHR.. yes... DL operates CUN and UA will operate CUN.. so does that mean those flights get to use A23, A24, and A25 also? I really, really, REALLY wish RDUAA would push AA off the international gates and let them take up some of other gates when UA moves to Concourse D.. I find it very blindsighted for AA to have use of those gates.. Only the LHR AA flight should be allowed..

But that's just my pet peeve..

Received from information today from a reliable source that WN is looking into GSO. Now I don't have that much information on it and understand their short in equipment but this is what I heard. Wonder if there's any possible truth to this or not?

I very much doubt it. What little sense GSO might've made in the first place, now makes even less sense given that WN/FL will serve CLT as well. I guess time will tell, but I would bet against it.

On an unrelated note, DL has updated their scheduled and RDU-LAX will not resume in March as I previously suggested (in spite of other posters who claimed to know otherwise).

The flight still appears in the default schedule beginning on 01May; again, I would emphasize that this is a default schedule and its accuracy should not be trusted. If indeed DL does decide to resume RDU-LAX in 2011, I wouldn't expect to see it launch must before Memorial Day weekend, the start of the peak summer season.

That's too bad....I live near Raleigh and flew this route a few years ago.

Does anyone happen to know of any new routes from ILM (Wilmington)? I would love to see more service as we currently only have US, DL, and Allegiant.

I know a good bit more that drive to CLT. Well I know for a fact that I hate driving to RDU unless I am going out of T2. I know WN probably never will but realistically how many people do drive to RDU?

Can anybody give me a little more information on the new DL, well connection service out of RDU. I see most of it is 9E and OH. I looked and couldn't find any E170s to BDL. Is this still happening or will it be CRJs?
