Hey all.
Not the most important of topics, but i just wanted to sort this one out. If you are not going to give a proper answer, don't bother replying. I don't want to hear it.
When Boeing announced that they were ditching the 747X project in favour of an enhanced B744, i assumed it was called the B747-400LR, as i had seen in articles.
But, most people on this forum refer to it as the B747-400ER, is this its official name?
Personally i thought it was the LR, can anyone sort this out once and for all.

Hi EGGD,
According to Boeing's web site, the "enhanced" 744's that Quantas bought are referred to as the "Longer Range 747-400". To be honest, I don't know if Boeing has officially given this aircraft an ER or LR designation. They are just referring to it as the "Longer Range 744".
Check out Boeing's site under commercial, then 747, then new 747 family. The "New 747 Family" to click on is just above the column of 747's.
