does anyone here on this forum have anymore info about the LH A388 schedule to Beijing? From what I saw it had to be reduced from the initial idea to serve PEK thrice weekly to once weekly as for now. Is the deployment of the 388 on the route to be upgauged soon? Just asking as I am booked on LH 720 on Dec 1st resp on LH 721 on Dec 5 and as per the reservation system and seat map it is still listed as an A388 but I have doubts whether this will remain so..

Any insider info highly appreciated
Thanks Markus

Hi Markus

It is intendet (and I think also aproved by the Chinese Gov.) to fly dayli to PEK, starting Nov. 13th.
So you should be lukey to get the A380.
Enjoy the Flight

Hi Markus,

I found the following on airlineroutes.com

Lufthansa A380 Daily Beijing service 4th postponement

20101014 by jimyvr Leave a Comment

As per 14OCT10 GDS timetable display, Lufthansa further postpone planned Daily Airbus A380 service on Frankfurt – Beijing service.

The Star Alliance carrier is now planning to start A380 Daily service from 19NOV10 (previously 10NOV10). This is the fourth delay of planned Daily A380 flight, as it is still awaiting for approval, mainly due to inadequate facilities at Beijing Airport and other issues for handling A380 service.

Related article in Chinese (GB code required) regarding A380 issues at Beijing Airport can be found here

It doesn't say anything for sure, just more delays....

Hope it will work out for you.

It's funny because PEK doesn't seem to have any problem handling EK's A380s daily

Flying in the middle seat of coach is much better than not flying at all!

Thanks so much for the info, guys - guess I'll just have to knock on wood that by the time it will fly daily - as much as I love the 744, inside, it is getting on a bit I think and I'd just like to try out the big whale jet
Cheers, Markus
