I'll be flying MIA-CDG this August. Out of MIA, there are three flights a day. American has a 763, and AF has a 744 and 343 (two 744s during the October-April). I'll be flying AF, but I was wondering which aircraft I should take? Do the 744s have PTVs? Which one offers much more comfort. The 744 leaves at a much more convienent time (around 17.00), but if 343 can offer more comfort (it leaves at around midnight!), I'll take it.

In my opinions, I have AF A343 here @ DFW, I have no other choice to fly to middle east this summer but on AF, .. I will go for AF, PTV is not a problem if they aren't available... If you wants PTV, I would say AF 744...

The 744's do not have PTV's. Most of Air France's A343's have PTV's. Their A340's are pretty comfortable, but I haven't flown one of their 744's. My advice would be to take the 744 on the way, and the A340 on the way back.

Fly definately the A340 for comfort, and you will have PTVs. I flew many legs with both types on Air France and the A340 is really my favorite. But the 747 is still the best looking aircraft on earth...
