Following from Transport Canada daily incident summary:
American Airlines, Inc. Boeing 777-200 aircraft (operating as AAL71) was on a scheduled IFR flight from Frankfurt (EDDF) to Dallas/Fort Worth (KDFW). The aircraft was 80NM west of Toronto when the flight crew reported a medical emergency and requested to divert to Toronto (CYYZ). The aircraft landed at Toronto on runway 23 at 1747Z.
AA had another medical diversion to Goose Bay on Monday on a JFK-LHR flight.
AAL142, Boeing 777-200, enroute from New York (KJFK to London (EGLL), at 14:25Z, 80 nautical miles southwest of Goose Bay (CYYR), requested to divert to Goose Bay due to a medical emergency. Air Traffic Control (ATC) cleared the aircraft as requested. The aircraft landed in Goose Bay at 14:46Z.
