'Cuddle Class', would be a great name as it happens..offering the middle seat of three at a reduced rate sounds a great idea to me...

Here is the news item..

Unfortunately you don't always get to have Rico as your seat-mate!

Any update on the ANZ 77Ws; the first of them must be on the production line by now!

I'm really glad that NZ has updated its premium economy, because at present it's nine abreast on the 777s, same as in Economy; at least there was some differentiation on the 744s.

ANZ has really done a great job with their interior. It's really the first time we've seen an airline try to improve economy class in a long time. The premium economy class looks great, a lot of comfort and privacy but not too much to take away from Upper Class. It would be really nice to see airlines bring out Premium economy like this for Transcon flights.

It seems in adult-oriented publications they are referring to this by a different name:

Really Stupid question here. How do the seatbelts work in that configuration?
They going to have entensions, or new fittings so when its in the flat config both will have one on?

Where abouts in AKL? at the airport? There premium economy is what im most looking forward to as is everybody else im sure. It is in another class of its own compared to all the newest PE cabins that are out now.

And finally a comletely different colour scheme with more chalk colours. No blues, greens, orange etc.

Are the pink uniforms on the new Rico videos (lol too funny) confirmed? i remember a while back when pics were out and most people didnt like them, me included, but these look better but not sure if they are the same.

Really stupid answer here. You don't lie down when the plane is taking off or landing.

Special look at NZ. Unfortunately I cannot say the location...but it is worth the wait!

NZ is one innovative airline! Correct NZ PE is miles above the other carriers!

They do always advise you to have your seatbelt on at all time when seated. and they will have some specially designed seatbelts.

Really stupid reality check here: If you over 5'10" in height, your feet/legs will stick into the aisle. Love the concept though.

Good point, would make you subject to a new dilemma possibly called 'trolley bash'.

Correct. By Wednesday last week, I saw their first 77W at the front of the moving line, almost ready to go to the paint hangars.

They said it should be ready to fly within the next two weeks, following a delivery in less than a month.

I wonder if they'll have a special press coverage for the delivery flight?

Today I went for a wander around Westfield Manukau and to my very surprise there was a display of the Y and Y+ seats, got to try them and they are very impressive, the Y seat might be a 3-4-3 but the seat felt at least as wide as the ones I am more used to that are on the 767ER. the sky couches looked pretty good too.

the Y+ was pretty amazing.

There's potential to be enough space if you bend your legs a bit though. But I sure wouldn't like to be the one in the seat across the aisle with smelly feet near my face! It'd be great if they could have a certain hygiene policy

A CX-style flyby? Haha. Then again, they're not scheduled to use them until January so far unless they've gone for a quick change of that.. Which means 1.5 months on the tarmac at AKL..

Quoting ash185 (Reply 6):

Nope, it would be nice if it was though.

Y+ is fantastic. But the recline/tilt buttons are in a quite awkward position. No wings as you're supposed to stuff a pillow in the wall cavity beside you. Along with no footrest, they're probably the only negative things I have to say about the Y+ seat so far, can't wait to test it out on an actual flight.

It's all about the destination AND the journey.

The new Premium Economy seating - Spaceseat - is a great product. I've sat in the seat and it is very comfortable. It's also great if you are traveling with someone, as you can actually face each other as you wine and dine in the sky.
