According to several media reports the Q400 Package Freighter will EIS this month. Does anyone here know if it will be delivered on time, or have already entered into service? I have not been able to find any information in relation to the PF.
The airplane will be have a 9 ton payload and a range of about 1200Nm? Are there any similar airplanes out there that could be succeded directly by the Q400PF?
Since I have not seen any pictures of the new plane, I would like to know it it is outfitted with a larger cargo door, so that unit load devices could be loaded into this airplane? By the way, do anyone have pictures of the plane?
With ATR having this capability, it would make the BBD product more competitive. The ATR also has a QC version and comes as a freighter newly built. It would be nice to see BBD offering the same capability to their Q400 down the line.
The airplane is according to some launcheg by Nord-flyg an others report it is West Atlantic. With many sub contractors on the cargo aviation market I have not been able to find out if this is indeed the same order, or two different ones. Both mention that the PF is an "old" SAS Q400.
