Well on 10/9/99 I flew from PVD to MSY on a 1-stop Metrojet flight. It was the 630am departure. The PVD-BWI portion was jam-packed, but even so, I found the plane to be comfortable. Now i'm a big guy(6'1,230), so thats saying alot. Flight was smooth and we touched down at 740am...right on time.
Besides myself, they had 9 other passengers going to New Orleans, so of course, I thought that the flight wouldn't be too full. To my surprise, the flight was totally full. We left BWI on-time at 8:30am and headed southwest for MSY. The flight was perfect, but I was dissapointed with the cabin service, for i was only offered one glass of juice for a 2h30m flight..kinda cheeky even for metrojet. Southwest serves 2 rounds on its BWI-MSY flight, and u get the whole can.......I appreciate little things like that. Anyway, we arrived into MSY just a few minutes last due to weather....overall not a bad experience...flight attendants were friendly, plane was clean.
On the way back, I was on USAir proper. MSY-PIT-PVD. I got on a 737-300 up to PIT, once agian the flight was packed!!! I never knew how US does on the MSY-PIT route, but now i have an idea!!! We got served a "snack", although it was not a good one. The snacks on United and Delta were better. US gave me a small chicken sandwhich, an almost-rotten apple, and a tiny piece of candy. Kinda bad, but i survived. Flight was on-time, plane was comfy and spotless, and crew was extremely professional.
At PIT i transfered to the gate to board flight 88, a Boeing 757, to Providence. The flight was full, and I sat in the rear of the aircraft...row 30 to be exact. Now I LOVE the 75.......takeoff is amazing..but i feel that the plane was quite cramped compared to UA, DL, NW 757's...and even the US 733 i found to be more comfy.....just me maybe. But we left on-time and the flight lasted 1h5m to PVD. 757 is a very slick plane. In-flight service consisted of a bag of pretzels and a soda.
We landed in PVD 15 min. early. Bags arrived 10 min. later.
Overall I had a good experiemce on USAirways/Metrojet. I prefer United and Delta a bit more, but US is very good. I'll be back on USAir one day. Keep up the good work. And bring a 75 into MSY!!!!
Sorry I moved from SXM, looking for a new house on Anguilla now!

Cool, another satisfied USAirways passenger. it looks like enjoyable USAirways flights are not isolated incedents. I am very glad to hear this. I am glad you enjoyed your flight and i wish nothing but the best to USAirways.

Speaking of PVD
I remember after my recent return flight landed at PVD that I was waiting and waiting for my luggage to arrive. I proceeded to the luggage pickup area but the lit signs were advertising other flights luggage. Finally about ten minutes later I was angry since my luggage wasnt there.
I took a close look and saw that indeed my luggage HAD BEEN THERE for a while even though the dummies never put out the info about my flight so even though I was on a USAirways flight from Pittsburgh I was picking up luggage advertised as being from some airline from New Orleans!

Interesting that they did that. I think that what happened was the fault of the airport, not the airline. I am to believe that airport officials are the ones that display the luggage from incoming flights and on what carousels they are to be distributed on. At least, that's how it works over here. Maybe it was the fault of the airline and there was a miss in comunication. However, I doubt that a situation like the one you experienced is uncommon.
