Indian TV channels are reporting Delta flight 70 (A330) flying Amsterdam to Mumbai has landed safely and is docked at an isolation bay while it is searched by the bomb squad after it was reported some unauthorized cargo made it onto the flight. All passengers have disembarked. News still coming in .. anyone have any more info?

The title of the thread is a bit misleading... None of the articles mention of a bomb... just say suspicious/unaccounted cargo.

Did they not realize when they were loading cargo?

Perhaps Mumbai should change their three-letter code. Don't say Mumbai's code anyway near an airport or an airplane.

Quoting DTWLAX (Reply 2):

And 95% of the time, when someone talks about "suspicious cargo" on an airplane, they are talking about an explosive device. Not the best title perhaps, but not "misleading".

haha I like it!

According to a "breaking news alert" on CNN News, the "all clear" has been given to the affected DL aircraft in Mumbai - no explosives apparently have been found.

Again, it makes me wonder why these "discoveries" get made mid-air after nobody has access to the hold. How do you "discover" suspicious cargo after the aircraft has left the gate?

Perhaps an item from Yeman that slipped through after the embargo. Only a quess. If the US can't get pax info sooner than four hours I'd assume the same for cargo.
