UPS Invests 100 Mio. $ At CGN

A german newspaper reported that UPS will invest 100 Mio. USD for building a new hall (30.000 m²) which will be intended to sort more parcels. It will be ready for use in 2005.

Today UPS moves 130.000 parcels at Cologne/Bonn in one night.

The new installation will be able to sort 135.000 parcels in one hour! 700 futher people will be engaged.

The european vice president of UPS told, that they prepare for a rising transshipment in Europe.

Nevertheless a reduction of flights until 2006 is planned by using bigger aircraft.
