I was just checking the MIA website and noticed the MIA-MUC flight has been delayed for 2 hours and that its coming from Freeport. Did the plane have some difficulties technical or medical that forced it to land in Freeport?

Must have been something serious if they went to NAS instead of continuing the extra ~100mi to MIA.

Cheers

True, I have flown into Freeport once and I found it to be the most primitive airport for a "major" city in any country in the world.

Freeport a major city? Not really.

I never considered Freeport a "major" city. The population is less than 30,000 and I've always considered it a secondary tourism market. People that want to head to a resort like area with nightlife, restaurants and beaches would likely head to Nassau/Paradise Island. People that are looking for a secluded beach location would probably head to one of the out islands in the Bahamas. I've always thought Freeport was pretty dirty and the people not all that friendly. I used to fly there very regularly when I worked for a small charter operation.
