Since this my "other" home airport, I'm glad to see some doing well. Yes,I Know it's EAS and I'm going to be wasting your money in a couple of weeks, but thought you all would enjoy this:

Hey!

Are you from Cape Girardeau? I am just across the border in Carbondale, Illinois! I use MWA Airport for Cape Air also when I fly out of MWA!

Glad to see another "local" around here!

Congrats to Cape Air making it work at CGI, I am sure MWA has similar results too!

Alex,
I grew up there (actually Jackson, MO) and all of my family still lives there. Career(non-avaition) has taken me out to SoCal , where I live about 2 miles from ONT.
I'll agree. It's quite nice to see them doing them very well, espically after the "carrier of the Year" that both CGI and MWA had for the past 5 years.
Maybe I'll try and put together a TR on my trip in a couple of weeks (although I'll have to change my name to LAX2CGI)
Jana

And to think Ozark operated 48 passenger FH-227B's for about ten years in and out of CGI and MWA.

thanks for the interesting article. The Ozark DC-9 jet service lasted just 18 months. It appears the last flight was a Series 30. From DC-9's and two airlines to EAS service with a Cessna 400 Series aircraft. How times have changed.

I flew Cape Air in May from STL to MWA. Only reason was to experience the 402 finally. Next day, I rebooked for earlier trip, and that flight made extra stop in CGI due to one a/c with MX. I was delighted for the bonus segment and my first time in SEMO.
Actually received free rt ticket on 9K for the inconvenience of extra stop. I used that for a BOS-RKD trip.
I liked the service and the trip to that area of the world..

Glad you enjoyed it. I almost didn't post it. Part of was the cat being let out of the bag with deregualtion, and another part was i-55 was completed all the way to Saint Louis. Not sure how to put the Cat back in the bag, but Cape Air's model (lots of flights on small planes vs once a day on a "normal" plane) seems to work(well, at least better). There's a private van service that runs from SEMO to STL that's not doing too well since Cape Air is actually undercutting thier prices. I'd rather give my money to folks who like what they do!
