I read on another post that AA has sublet former DL gates L3 and L5? How soon before before AA starts using these gates. If you look at the O'Hare websites, AA/Eagle/Connection is still using only 1,2,4,6,and 8.
Who will be using the gates, mainline or Eagle/Connection? Will subletting L3 and L5 allow BA to shift departures from Terminal 5 to Terminal 3?

American Connection operated Chautauqua does just about all the flying out of L. There is a 777 to LHR every night towards the end of the concourse, and a random MD-80 everyone in awhile. Eagle only flies out of G & H. Air Choice one has one of the former Delta gates and Spirit has another.

I just looked at OHare.com. It looks like mainline is fitting in some flights into L1 between AS flights, while L8 has some MD-80 ops along with the Dehli departure this evening.
But, if AA signed a sublease for gates L3 and L5, will they be used for Connection or mainline? I don't think you can put widebodies in there, because of the space needed for push back, although I'm not certain. But with shifting of some mainline flights from K over to L3 and L5, that would give AA room for the BA departures to LHR.

Connection is L2-L6..L8 can handle ever AA plane and does L10 had a connection plane parked there for the day the time I was thru they didnt operate it from L10 but used it as a parking spot..L1 is Alaska & American 737/M80. Alaska has used L3 or maybe they still do at night when they have 2 planes on the ground SEA/PDX/ or SEA/ANC.

I've been flying into and out of L now several times a month now that most of the MKE flights are operated by Connection. From what I've seen Alaska does use L1 and L3 when two aircraft are present, both gates only have AS signage (no AA).
Connection uses the alphabet soup gates in L2-L6 and quite efficiently I might add.
Since I'm usually connecting home in the evenings, I've only seen 777s parked at L8 which have been the DEL and the late night LHR flight.
Finally, as of last night L5 still had a sign stating that Delta has moved to it's new gates in terminal 2 (nothing AA related).
