SriLankan from 1DEC is introducing all Y service, aboard its newest A320, 4R-ABK.
The aircraft, ex Jazeera 9K-CAB MSN2584, will retain its Y165 config.
Routes to operate include all TRZ flights and some MLE flights.

Seems UL is following footsteps of its codeshare partner EY. And the aircraft ( and next two 320s ) are powered by CFM, whereas its existing fleet is IAE.

Makes sense on its flights to southern Indian destinations, flight-times are rarely more than 90 minutes

TRZ is less than an hour. MLE is 1h25 and MAA is 1h20.

Of course, a better idea than running the biz class empty ( if it is ). And to MLE and MAA, there's plenty of biz capacity on other UL flights. But is this really a profitable move ?
Does anybody know how is EY's experiment going on ?
