Has Delta officially announced that they will be taking the entire China Southern MD-90 fleet?

While the source of the aircraft was not named, their latest fleet plan included the fact that they were acquiring additional MD-90s that match the number China Southern is selling and SAS is leasing.

This is B-2103, one of the two Chinese built MD-90's, these are not going to DL as far as I know. Storage in MZJ followed by part-out is more likely.

Why would DL not want the Chinese built MD-90s? If the landing gear was that much of an issue, couldn't they get it modified to fit the rest of the fleet?

There's nothing quite like a trijet.

As I mentioned above, the latest 10-K indicated they had purchase commitments for 13 MD-90s, which would include the two Chinese-built frames. This aircraft should receive an N-number within the next week if it is in fact going to Delta, so I am watching for that.

Update:
The aircraft has received the registration number N965DN, so it is going to Delta.

Not a thing, it was originally to have a 4 wheel main gear but that never happened.

Another MD-90 arrived in MZJ yesterday. This one seems to have come from Europe. I guess we can assume its one of the MD-90's that SAS is leasing to Delta ??
