For those of you on this board who constantly moan that WN has lost its luster, doesn't always offer the lowest fare and is generally nothing to get excited about, take note of what is happening at GSP this week:

When was the last time you saw an Airport Executive as a parade Grand Marshal? Usually, the most press the AE gets is a "gotcha" interview with the local TV station as he is getting off the plane coming back from AAAE in Maui at "taxpayer expense."

Atta boy, Dave.

Title is a tad misleading though. This parade is an Annual event and would have happened with or without WN coming in. However it is great they are honoring him for his role in getting a major service increase for that community.

Yeah, I played with "GSP Throws A Parade for WN, the Guy Who Brought WN to Town and Santa" and "Dave Edwards and Santa--GSP Loves Them Both."

But, my point is that folks down there are anything but blase about WN coming to town. It is a really big deal and folks around here are often quick to dismiss how important gaining WN service is to communities like GSP. GSP already had signficant G4 service (well, as significant as G4 gets), but I am pretty sure they didn't throw any parades for G4.

Or if he has porn on his office computer.  Wow!

That will last as long as WN can keep ticket prices down out of GSP, I've got cousins in GSP and CHS and it's usually $150 cheaper to fly out of CHS. So as long as WN can at least keep prices close to that of CHS they will do great.

Keep in mind that WN will also serve CHS. Locals in both the GSP and CHS areas will win.

I don't work for FWA, their tenants, or their ad agency. But I still love FWA.
