FAA Restores Mexico's Category 1 Status

Good thing to see, it was about time. The U.S. side was also losing a lot by keeping Mexico in the CAT II status.

Worth mentioning the Mexican Authorities outstanding job in making sure Mexico returns to Cat I as soon as possible... Great job!! Now the Mexican Carriers need to step it up...Also MX needs to give up all their route authorities as I consider this a very unfair game if they don't, since they don't seem to make up their mind about comming back.

That's really great! If MX still had any right to resume its operations to the US and was basing its comeback business model on that fact, they have just lost their advantage.

This must be a huge blow to MX's hopes of a successful restart . The Ace they were holding was having access to Mexico-US rights that would not be possible for other Mexican carriers - they have just lost that advantage .

DGAC made an excellent job at hiring and training all needed inspectors in shortest time possible and FAA at verifying it. Back in CAT I! What a relief!

My other plane is an A380.

I'm sure the aviation safety agreement that was signed on Monday between Mexico and the USA also played role in Mexico getting CAT I established quicker.
