Amazing that MS have realised this just weeks aftetr ET announced joining and ET having the largest African Network of any airline! Is this MS not trying to be outdone?

CAI is not a good hub for Africa, only North/Central Africa

MS has been expanding in Africa for quite some time now, much longer than mere weeks.

Depends. MS is a gateway to North/West Africa if you're coming from the Middle East/India/the Far East, and Central/Southern Africa if you're coming from Europe/the Middle East. CAI is well positioned to capture numerous travel flows.

The Airline has announced long time ago that their expansion in Africa was "strategic" , they were waiting for the arrival of more A/C to announce their plans in Africa . They currently fly to 17 cities in Africa and are expected to double that in 5 years

Egyptair carries a lot of connecting traffic between South Africa/East Africa and Europe/Asia . And they are expecting that within 5 years 30-40% of their operation will be connecting traffic .
