Hot damn! I'm glad this livery won out. I still wish they would have stuck with the 757 but I understand the reasoning behind choosing the A320. Looking forward to seeing the A320 Friend Ship at SJC and SFO!

Awesome! Not the livery I would have picked personally, but I think the Friendship Stars and Bars will look very smart on an A320 and I can't wait to see the plane!
I spoke to an off duty UA flight attendant last night on my flight IAD-JFK and he was very upbeat about the merger. Even if it doesn't reflect the opinion of everyone, I think there are exciting times again for the new United.

I'm so happy to hear this! Although part of me was pulling for the 247 livery, the Friendship livery is a fantastic scheme and will really look great flying around our country. Will definitely stand out against all the eurowhite schemes flying around!

Quoting thomasphoto60 (Reply 5): I wonder how long CO's retro 739 "Blue Skyway" has left, considering the UA take over.
I believe I read somewhere (possibly on Skynet) that it will stay in that scheme until the next repaint cycle. The stars and bars will look great on the A320, though I wish they had stuck with the 757. But who cares, we're finally getting a (long overdue) UA retro jet!!!

AWESOME!! I think the Friendship livery is an excellent way to bring in the new UNITED. While I didn't have the opportunity to vote, that is what I would have chosen. Its going to look great on the A320 and I look forward to seeing her around.

Although I'm more of a fan of the "rainbow" and the livery before the "Friendship," I do look forward to seeing this A320 grace the friendly skies! A 757 might have been nicer considering it's similar lines to the DC-8, but since more stations see the A320 it makes sense to choose that instead.
Quoting rj777 (Reply 8): Let's see......is there any major US left that hasn't done a retro livery?
Depends on your definition of major. If we're talking legacies, then no. But if you include Alaska, Frontier, JetBlue, and Hawaiian, they all haven't done one. And although they're not around anymore, Northwest never did one, either.
Quoting flashmeister (Reply 21): What about DL? Once The Spirit of Delta left the fleet, did they keep any other birds around in the old livery?
The Spirit of Delta was the only DL retro jet.
