For say Delta; would they consider doing one for pre delta and northwest?
I wish Delta would do a livery to celebrate the merger. Basic Delta scheme with NWA silver instead of white and a red compass in there somewhere - would look top notch!
This would be a too expensive paint livery to apply. It would take several coats of clear coat over the silver and Delta probably would not like to spend the money. I wished Delta had decided to use the silver paint instead of the white.
It would look much better and not show dirt as much as the white.

That's actually great that the new united is keeping continental's retro and doing one of their own. I think delta should follow. Even though an airline may be gone a retro may keep the memories alive.

I would hope that each company that has been through a merger would recognize each of the two's main liveries from the past. At my own company, I think it would be wonderful to see them do all of CO's previous liveries from Bob Six through to the Globe on a B737NG and in the case of UA do the same from the start through to the pre-merger blue on-blue on- blue on an A320. I think it would make the employees of the combined company proud of their heritage and help to bring a bond among then all. While I doubt such an idea would be cost effective, it really would give all of us airline geeks and a few of current employees a huge smile on their face.
