Good for Bombardier, they needed a nice little kick!

IMO the Q400 looks very sharp in SpiceJet livery.

It makes perfect sense to place this bird in the Indian aviation market. The speed, comfort and economy of this plane will no doubt make it a hit.

This is also a significant order since they up until now have had a single 737 fleet. I am sure it will work out, but it is still a significant change for an airline to introduce a new plane.

There is a lot of growth potential in connecting second tier cities to a major hub(DEL and MAA in the case of SpiceJet). SpiceJet, along with Indigo, will be major airlines in India for many years to come.

I wonder when Indigo will order a turboprop.

They performed much better than their rivals during the recession.

Me too. I wonder if EADS will try to offer a sweet deal for the ATR 72-600 since Indigo already have a customer relations with EADS?

Hopefully Q400s will start a trend in the country after the ATR72s did.

Good move from SpiceJet - definitely a lot of potential for low cost services to/from secondary cities in India!
