Delta Inflight Text Messages On A330?

I was looking at a flight from LAX-ATL and saw something interesting on the A330 flight....

Does anyone know if this is actual text messages or what they're talking about?

If it's the same as what was available with NWA then its your standard SMS text message. I've used it a few times when flying AMS-BOS, was always reliable... Nothing much more to say LOL

Edit: Other than cost I guess, which I can't remember...... I don't think it was more than a couple of bucks though. I only ever used it as a joke; I live in the north of England so our flight path would be right over my house. I would text my mom or a friend something like "Look Up and Wave... THATS ME  "
