On January 4th I'm flying home from ATL to SAN on CO through IAH. Originally the ATL-IAH was an E145 and now it looks like it's been changed to a Skywest (United Express) CR7 with first class and economy plus.

The UA/SkyWest integration onto CO routes begins in January it seems. Your flight won't be the first.

You will start to see more regional subs on the CO and UA side as XJT is moving somemore ERJ-145's to ORD and possibly DEN (around 30-40 is what employee's are hearing) and SkyWest will be moving some CR7's to IAH and E70's from Republic Airways. This is going to be interesting with CO Pilot's scope clause in violation (which I am hearing from some CO pilots that there might be some legal action taken?)

I was just thinking that. I'd assume that until the scope issue is resolved, they'll have to operate with UA flight numbers.

Why are people so against low yields?! If lower yields means more people can travel abroad, i'm all for it

There are quite a few CR7 flights in the new upcoming schedule carrying CO flight #s. Not sure how they are working this one out as I would have thought it would be easier to use UA #s with the scope issue handing overhead.

The parties agreed to an arbitration regarding this issue. IIRC, the arguments were heard by the arbitrator last week and the decision might be issued before the end of the month.

Here's a Flight Global article about the issue:

what is really interesting in this case is that flight # 1103 this month is operated with a mainline B737 and in Jan goes to a CR7, Flight was re-rimed but still a CR7 using a mainline flight number.

Since I am from New Jersey but go to college at Purdue University for Professional Flight, Im happy that I will be flying an E170, Ive never flown one of those. The 145's were nice. Reminded me of a sports car, sleek and respsonsive. But for a tall person like me, getting into one of those planes is a little hard to do =)

After this merger and I think the ERJ-145's will be gone since both parties of pilots want the Regional flying back "In House" and I think you might see a spike in the CR7, CR9 and E170's maybe even E190's (which I think could make so we retire the B735's but that's just my opinion) Any Thoughts?

i think alot of people would like to see that happen but I don't think they have enough capacity to replace them, they have something like 260 of them
