According to this article, Mauritania Airways (a Tunisair affiliate) will be replaced by a new airline called Mauritania International Airlines.

http://blog.seattlepi.com/worldairlinenews/archives/231492.asp

It seems that Tunisair's adventure in Mauritania is coming to an abrupt halt after the affiliate was barred from serving European destinations because of substandard safety procedures of the Mauritanian Aviation Authorities.

I don't give the new airline any chance of survival. They won't be able to fly to Europe unless the safety standards are improved in the country and government run airline is always a mess in Africa.

Next flights : BRU-ZRH-CAI (LX)/ BRU-FCO-TLV (AZ)

Exactly, so in my view it's completely useless to setup a new airline unless the safety standards are improved.

Strange. I thought that since Mauritania Airways' aircraft were registered in Tunisia, they would be exempt from the EU ban. Similar to STP Airways. Guess not!
